Volkswagen has finally revealed the first of its new ID.Range. the new ID.3 Neo. The ID.3 Neo is actually a very heavily facelifted ID.3 but it has been given an all new generation design.

Starting with the most obvious we get a new front end design with slimmer headlights and a big light up bar giving the front end a new familiar look. It is much more aggressive than before. This has been done to bring the car inline with the upcoming ID.POLO and ID.Cross EV's. You may also notice that we get a new bumper design and a new bonnet design which has been simplified. Along the side you will also notice the removal of black panels specifically on the roof and c pillar. This is to make the car feel more premium and simple. Wheel designs are also new and less areodynamically focused giving you a premium look. Round back the simplified theme continues with a body colour boot panel and simpler taillights overall giving the car a much more grown up and premium look.

The biggest changes lie inside though with a completely reworked interior. To start with everything from the old ID.3 has been ripped out and been replaced with a much more premium dashboard design with much more premium materials. We get this new dashboard design which isnt as driver orientated anymore which makes the car feel wider. The materials are softer too and there is a lot more ambient lighting which is nice. We get an all new instrument cluster straight from the upcoming ID.Polo which can resemble a Mk1 Golf instrument cluster. It is also bigger in size at 10 inches making it easier to read too. The infotainment system is also new which is much easier to use and again has a new retro style design giving it a premium and funky feel.

What you will also notice is the welcome addition of a lot of physical buttons. We get a row of physical buttons for your climate control at long last, a physical volume dial and all 4 window switches which is a huge welcome addition. You also get a new steering wheel which has a flat top and bottom to it along with physical buttons. Really this interior makes the car feel much more premium and Volkswagen than before.
Practicality and boot space will be the same as before as it is the same car but the battery packs are all new. To start with they now have LFP technology which improves range and charging speed. The base 50 kWh model can do 259 miles on a single charge which is an 18 mile increase but the bigger 58 kWh battery pack gets a significant increase of 37 miles to 307 miles of range. The long range 79 kWh version also gets an increase to 391 miles which is a 16 mile increase which is good too. There are multiple power outputs which depend on the battery size with the base model getting 168 bhp, the mid range getting 188 bhp and the long range getting 228 bhp.

What has also been revealed today is that the ID.3 GTX will be replaced with a GTI Version but unfortunately there hasn't been any announcements on performance or style of that one yet but we shouldn't have to wait too long with the reveal on that one. Listed below are the reveals for the upcoming Volkswagen Cars of 2026.
Volkswagen ID.Polo - April

Volkswagen ID3. GTI - September
