The new Tesla Model Y Performance has been revealed with similar underpinnings to the Model 3 Performance. This means you get a 460 bhp dual motor setup with better thermal management, perfect for high speed runs. This means you can do 0-60 in 3.3 seconds which is 0.2 seconds quicker than before but 0.4 seconds slower than the Model 3. Considering this is a performance model though with 21 inch wheels, range isn't affected as much as you would think as it can still do 360 miles on a full charge which is only a few miles less than the standard Dual Motor Model Y.
The exterior design on the new Performance model is slightly different over the regular Model Y as you get some aggressive front and rear bumpers with some bigger more pronounced air vents which looks great. You also get a big carbon fibre boot spoiler which again looks great. Finally to finish it off you get some gloss black door mirrors giving it a unique look.
Inside the new Performance Model Y you get some upgraded seats which support you much better than any other Tesla seats before them. They also have a Plaid inspired logo on them too which looks cool. The final change is a new 16 inch infotainment screen which is 1 inch bigger than before which is much crisper than before and might even make its way to the regular Model Y and maybe even the Model 3 range. We will have to wait and see.
The final interesting part of the Model Y Performance is the price. Coming in at £61,990 it isn't the cheapest but it is only £990 more than the launch edition Model Y which means you do actually get so much more for your money compared to that car.
