The new Kia Sportage Facelift has finally been revealed with a new look and new engines as well as new technology.
Outside the new Sportage Facelift and we can clearly see a new more modern squared off design compared to the old outgoing angular design. Personally i think this suits the car much better by having a wider squarer grill and these headlights that are tall but cool looking. We also get a sporty lower air vent and along the side some cool looking wheels. Round the back the taillights are also slimmer and both taillights and headlights incorporate the new 'starpoint' graphics.
Moving inside and Kia has made the interior more livable by getting rid of gloss black plastic and replacing it with a matt finish. We also get a new infotainment system as well as a new multi colour steering wheel. To finish the cabin up we also get some new materials just to make the cabin feel more premium than before.
Now for the important part, the powertrains. The new Kia Sportage starts off with a 1.6 litre Turbo Petrol engine. They are all the same apart from the hybridisation on them. The base model has a 48v Mild Hybrid system which powers the front wheels with 148 bhp through a 6 speed manual or a 7 speed DCT gearbox. The next version is a Full Hybrid system which has 235 bhp and this is pared to a 6 speed automatic transmission that powers the front wheels or all 4 wheels on the top spec GT-Line S models. Finally the last engine is a Plug In Hybrid engine. This has 283 bhp. We don't know what the electric only range is yet but we can guess it will be an increase over the 40 miles.
The final change on the Kia Sportage Facelift is the trim level. It now kicks of with the Pure trim level and then goes to GT-Line then GT-Line S. it is much simpler than before and easier to remember.
