This is the new 2025 BMW X3

The new 2025 BMW X3 has been revealed with an all new interesting design.

You can easily tell that this is still an X3 with the overall style of the grill. The headlights have an unusual design, something we haven't seen before on any BMW. The rear design of the X3 is similar to the previous X3 but the number plate has been moved onto the bumper giving the rear end a clean and minimalistic look. Along the side we get some flush door handles and some rounded door mirrors.

Moving inside and we get a big departure from the previous X3. To start with we get the dual screen setup from the 5 Series running iDrive OS 8.5. Also from the 5 Series we get the light bar setup on the dash as well as the door cards and even the centre console this time round. Talking of the centre console we get a minimalistic design with a small gear selector toggle and the iDrive controller as well as some wireless charging pads. The steering wheel is also out of the 5 Series and as are most of the switches. The seats are an all new design and are quite comfortable but supportive at the same time. A typical BMW seat.

As the X3 has only grown by 40 mm in length and 20 mm wider the rear space is slightly better than before. What is different is though that the X3 sits 25 mm lower giving it a wide and sporty look.

The engine lineup has been tweaked from the previous X3 with the discontinuation of the iX3 as this will morph into the Neue Klasse X. The engine lineup kicks off with the xDrive20. This uses a new mild hybrid engine with a peak power figure of 205 bhp. There will also be a diesel version unlike the new 3 Series and this will be called xDrive20d. this features a 2.0 litre diesel unit with 194 bhp and again aided by a mild hybrid system. The next engine is the xDrive30e and this is a plug in hybrid engine with 294 bhp and a 54 mile electric only range. The final engine in the lineup is the M50 xDrive model with the usual 'b58' engine. This has been tweaked though to produce 392 bhp and a 0-62 time of just 4.6 seconds thanks to its own mild hybrid system.

The M50 xDrive also adds some sportier upgrades with M Sport brakes and a M Sport differential. It will also come with 20 inch alloy wheels. The overall chassis of the X3 is lighter and stiffer than before.

The 2025 BMW X3 starts at £46,800 rising to £64,990 for the M50 xDrvie. With deliveries starting nearer the end of the year.
