Volkswagen has revealed its upcoming ID.Polo interior with its next generation design. The new interior uses what Volkswagen Call 'Premium Haptic' with a mixture of touchscreen elements and a lot more physical buttons at long last.

The Dashboard features a new 10.25 inch Instrument cluster and a new 13 in Infotainment system which runs new software which has been simplified and made to look cleaner too. It also uses a new navigation platform which can switch between Volkswagen's own system or Google Maps. The Instrument Cluster also has simpler looks too but the best part is that you can put both screens in retro mode to show a Golf Mk1 inspired screen setup which i think makes the interior a lot more iconic.

There has also been a big effort to increase the quality of its materials in the cabin with a fabric covered dashboard top panel as well as stitching on the door panels and seats. All of the materials on the seats and doors are types of thermoplastic that can be obtained from recycled plastic bottles which makes this car even more efficient in more ways than you think.

To help with the increase of buttons, Volkswagen has introduced a new steering wheel with a 2 spoke dual coloured design and this houses a new set of physical buttons although they are in the same layout as before. We also now get a row of physical climate control buttons on the dashboard to replace the climate sliders that are on the Mk8 Golf for example. The volume knob even makes a return in the ID.Polo as too the 4 window switches as apposed to 2 and a rear button.
The overall fit and finish in the Polo does feel much better than any other Volkswagen at the moment. It also feels a lot more inviting too and airy.

With a reveal expected to be imminent we shouldn't have to wait too long before we see what the outside of the new ID.Polo looks like. Order books are expected to start at the end of April 2026 with 2 battery options and 4 motor options including the first electric GTI model. We also expect the petrol powered Polo to run alongside the new ID.Polo for sometime as it will receive some extensive updates including new technology and hybrid powertrains.
