Today I am going to talk through the new leaked images of the new Volkswagen T-Roc as they are very interesting. Lets have a look and see what is different.
So, these pictures that has surfaced are of the infotainment system and as you can tell the new T-Roc is still very familiar to what we have today with a few interesting details to talk about. To start with we get a set of slim headlights connected with a light bar very similar to the new Volkswagen Tiguan but even closer to the new MG ZS Hybrid+ which is very interesting. Lower down though we get this huge grill with integrated side vents which either have body colour elements on the side vents or are lights a bit like what it has now. I expect them to be lights as it will mimic the outgoing T-Rock.
Round the side and we get a curvier profile which will help with aerodynamics. We do get some sharp creases though especially near the rear of the car.
Round the back and we can clearly see that it is inspired by the new Tiguan with the clear lens taillight unit and light bar. Unlike the Tiguan though the number plate isn’t on the boot but on the bumper but what we can tell is that the plastic cladding will be kept to a minimum to keep it looking premium and sleek.
Underneath we expect the Volkswagen T-Roc to sit on the MQB evo platform used by the Tiguan and Golf Mk 8.5 facelift. This means that the T-Roc should get the 1.5 eTSI engine with mild hybrid assistance and there may even be a plug-in hybrid powertrain for the first time. Now we don’t know if there will be an R version just like we don’t know if there will be an R version of the Tiguan but if there is one then it will use the 2-litre petrol engine with 328 bhp taken from the Golf R.
What is very important to mention though is that the next generation Volkswagen T-Roc will be the last all new model with an internal combustion engine. After this every Volkswagen launched will be electric only.
