Mercedes has planned to end production of there electric executive cars the EQE Saloon and SUV because of poor sales and uptake.

These models will be indirectly replaced with the GLC EQ and C-Class EQ next year with a direct replacement coming in the from of the GLE EQ and E-Class EQ. This is because the electrified C Class and GLC offer similar packaging to the EQE range but with a more conventional Mercedes look that everyone knows and loves.

Now, we had expected the EQE range to receive a facelift next year with significant upgrades to the EVA platform including the new 800v architecture, new inverters and upgraded motors for better performance and efficiency. We can say though that these changes will still happen to the bigger EQS range which sits on the same platform.

When the Mercedes EQE range and even the EQS range was launched back in 2022 and 2023, there was a bit of criticism on the design aspects because it looked nothing like a Mercedes and this is most likely because of the poor uptake on the EQE and even the EQS. With the C-Class EQ and GLC EQ coming later this year and next year we can see why Mercedes may want to discontinue the EQE with a better car.

Now, Mercedes hasn't officially announced that it will be discontinuing the EQE lineup but we can 90% confirm that this is the case because of the E-Class EQ being developed and this will give it time to change the tooling in the factory.

What do you think about the Mercedes EQE range. Did you like it or didn't it fit the Mercedes Brand. Let me know in the comment section below.
