It seems that Cupra is doing better than Seat at the moment and because of this they are going to get electrified first. There is also no news of seat becoming electric. This has made people speculate that Seat is going to be replaced by Cupra. For me I don’t think Seat will be replaced as such. I think Seat is going to be positioned differently from what they are now. From how I see it is that Cupra is going to be a more upmarket sporty version of Seat and Seat themselves are going to be a more budget friendly but premium brand still. A bit like what they are now just a bit cheaper so more people can afford the cars they sell. They could also go down the route of e-mobility and make cars and mopeds to rent out to people rather than to sell their products to people. This is more likely as the Volkswagen group doesn’t have a brand like this to rival other car group brands. The other reason is why Cupra is going electric first is that they are still a relatively new brand so that will get priority so they can cement the brand fully.
