With the recent unveiling of the new Vauxhall Corsa Electric Yes Edition, the cheapest electric car you can currently buy in the UK is it possible that all electric cars you can buy are priced expensive on purpose.
Lets take this exact example. Look at what car it is based on. The Vauxhall Corsa Electric Yes Edition is based on the Vauxhall Corsa Electric GS which is currently priced at £34,080. The Vauxhall Corsa Electric Yes Edition has the exact same specs as the GS even including the Black badges, roof and door mirrors. Yes the wheels are based on the Design model and the interior trim is based on the pre-facelift Corsa Electric GS and the Record Red is based on the 40th anniversary Corsa Electric. How did Vauxhall make the Corsa Electric Yes Edition so cheap.
Well really there is only one answer for it. The regular Corsa Electric must be priced too high. With a difference of £8,000 between the car it is based on and the actual car, it begs to ask the question are all electric cars priced too high to get bigger profits? Are Car manufactures too greedy in raking in the profits?
Well really this limited edition model just shows that current electric cars shouldn't be as expensive as they are.
