The New Renault Clio has arrived with more angular looks as well as an all new Full Hybrid E-Tech powertrain.
Sitting on the same CMF-B platform as the outgoing Clio, the new Renault Clio is 67mm longer, 39mm wider and 11mm taller than the old car. This has been done to make the car look more sportier. This doesn't help much for interior space but will help in the handling department thanks to a wider track than before.

The New Clio has been designed to be more angular than the old model giving it a more modern Renault Look. The front end also has a hint of Ford Fiesta Mk8 look about it with the grill and headlight shape. The nose end is also a lot lower too and you also get these big Daytime Running Lights inspired by the Renault logo and look like they belong on a supercar. Along the side we get some gloss black wheel arches as well as hidden rear door handles just like the past 2 generations. We also get a rear angular design on the glass element giving it a premium and high end look. Round the back and we get hints of Ferrari's and the Rafale with Clio almost getting a ducktail rear spoiler style on the boot which almost gives it a saloon shape which i quite like. I also like the separate taillights giving it a Ferrari Roma look and a clean and fresh design.

On the inside of the new Renault Clio, Renault hasn't skimped on the designing department. Inside you will find a 10.1 inch infotainment screen joined by a 10.25 inch instrument cluster powered by Android Automotive and you will now also get 2GB data package free with Renault for the first 3 years. There is a new steering wheel which is smaller and taken from the Austral and Rafale and there is also much more premium materials inside the cabin to make sue it feels more premium. The newly designed seats also help with this.
In terms of practicality the rear seat space is the same as before and as to is the boot at 391 for the petrol model and 309 for the hybrid but the boot lip is 40mm lower than before so it will be easier to get items in the back.
Safety equipment is much better than before with no less than 29 assistance systems. Some of these new systems include Emergency Rear Braking, Safe exit alert for passengers, Front and rear detection with emergency trajectory correction and emergency stop assistance which will bring the car to a complete stop if the driver doesn't respond.
In terms of engines the old 143 hybrid engine has been replaced with a new 158 bhp model already seen in the Captur. This will give you an impressive 72 mpg making it the most efficient in its class. This is because of a bigger mild hybrid battery from 1.2 kWh to 1.4. 0-62 is delt within 8.3 seconds taking a full second off the outgoing car. There will also be a new 1.2 turbo with 113 bhp which will replace the old 1.0 litre 89 bhp. Trim Levels are carried over from the Outgoing Clio which will include Evolution, Techno and Esprit Alpine. The price hasnt been announced yet but expect it to have a slight increase over the outgoing model.
