New 2024 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Facelift Review

Is the Porsche Cayenne Coupe Facelift just as good as the regular Cayenne?

Exterior – Front

So, Porsche has given the Cayenne Coupe some big changes to make it look like a whole new model, but it is the same model as before. at the front though we get squarer headlights giving this a more modern look. They still have the signature 4 dot LED Day Time Running Light, and they also have LED Digital Headlight Technology. The bumper is also new with this big central grill connected to some big side vents with body colour sections. Lower down on the bumper we get some more air vents to aid cooling, but the overall design is more modern and boxier than before but still recognisable as a Porsche.

Exterior – Side

Moving round to the side and we get some new colour and wheel options, but we also get some new plastic moulding on some models to make it more luxurious and sportier than before. let’s move round to the back to see some big changes.

Exterior – Rear

Moving round to the back and this is where the Porsche Cayenne Coupe looks slightly different than before. we get a slightly redesigned tailgate to incorporate a new light bar and 3D taillights. We also get a new bumper style too just like the regular Cayenne with the number plate being lower down. Let’s have a look at what engine options that you can have with the new Porsche Cayenne Facelift as these have changed quite a bit.

Car and engine specs and price

So, the engine range has been tweaked for the facelift. To start with we get a new entry level model called the Cayenne. This uses a 3 litre V6 engine which has 350 bhp and it can do 0-62 in 6 seconds with a top speed of 154 mph. next up in the range is the Cayenne E-Hybrid. This uses a plug in hybrid setup with a 3 litre V6 engine with 298 bhp but it also has an electric motor with 170 bhp with a combined power of 465 bhp. On electric power alone you can drive about 45 miles on a single charge, but overall performance is a 0-62 time of 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 158 mph. The next version in the Cayenne lineup is the Cayenne S. This uses a 4 litre V8 engine with 470 bhp and a top speed of 170mph. 0-62 is delt within 5 seconds which is pretty quick. Next up just like the normal Cayenne models you get a hybrid version of the Cayenne S called the Cayenne S E-Hybrid. This uses a 3 litre V6 with 350 bhp but again it is backed by an electric motor with 160 bhp making 515 bhp in total. Electric only range is about 50 miles, and you can do 0-62 in 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 163 mph. Finally, there is a top of the range model. This is the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid. This uses a 4 litre V8 with 595 bhp and a electric motor with 170 bhp making a total 735 bhp. This has 950 Nm of Torque, and it makes the car do 0-62 in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 183 mph. electric only range is still about 45 miles which is very decent. The price of the Porsche Cayenne Facelift starts at £73,300. Let’s have a look at the interior.

Interior – Design

So, climbing inside the new Porsche Cayenne Coupe and we get a completely different dashboard design to what we are used to from any Porsche actually. Let’s start with the biggest change, the instrument cluster. For ever on the digital instrument cluster, we had a analogue rev counter in the middle but since the Tycan has come out this has changed. This is the first non-electric Porsche to have a fully digital instrument cluster. It is easy to use and looks very modern and still feels Porsche like. The dashboard is also completely new with the gear shifter now next to the instrument cluster, and we also get a better infotainment screen using the latest Porsche software. The dashboard does have a lot of piano black plastic but you can also get a passenger screen so this car would have 3 screens in total. The centre console is also new, and we do get some physical climate control buttons still, but it is laid out in a nice and easy way to use. We still get some grab handles. The air vents are also new and so is the steering wheel. The door cards are also partially new with the upper part being new. The seats are the same as before though, but they are very comfy and supportive. Let’s have a look at the rear seats.

Practicality

So, getting into the back of the new Porsche Cayenne Coupe facelift and we get some new changes too. Again, the door card inserts up top are slightly different, and we also get some new air vents. The seats can move and recline, and you do get plenty of knee room, but headroom is not the best because of the sloping roof which is to be expected. Again, the seats are very supportive but if you did want to sit 3 in the back then remember that there is a big hump in the floor. Let’s have a look at the boot and see what that is like.

Boot Size

So, opening the boot electronically you are welcomed to 625 litres of boot space which is quite decent. If you do go for the e-Hybrid version, then it does reduce to 545 litres which again is still decent. Folding the seats down you get 1,344 litres which again isn’t that bad.

Summary

so, what do I think of the new Porsche Cayenne coupe. Well it is a much needed improvement over the pre facelift and if this is what the future of Porsche looks like then I am all for it with a whole new interior and a more premium exterior styling.
