New 2024 Peugeot E-208 Facelift Review

Is the Peugeot E-208 Facelift better than before

Exterior – Front

So, let’s start with the front and this is where most of the changes lie. To start with we get a new set of headlights with Matrix technology. They look sportier and they now don’t include the LED Daytime Running Lights. This is because they have become much bigger and have moved lower down giving this a fierce look which I do like. The grill is also different, and it is also body colour. There is a new mesh pattern too which gives this car a sportier look. We also get a new 208 and Peugeot logo.

Exterior – Side

Moving round to the side and we do get some changes. To start with we get again new lettering to the c pillar as well as some new colour and wheel options. The wheels are interesting though this time. Peugeot has thought out of the box and gave the wheel a square design on a circle frame. This is to make the car look more concept and sporty like. We have seen this on other Peugeots too and I really like this new design.

Exterior – Rear

Moving to the back and the changes continue. To start with gone has the Peugeot logo and the lettering has been updated to be much bigger and squarer. We also get a new design to the claw taillights. Rather than the claws going down, they not go across the making the car look wider. We also get new 208 lettering at the back too. The bumper is the same though. Let’s have a look at the battery and motor options as well as engine specs that you can have with the new Peugeot 208 Facelift.

Car and engine specs and price

So, the new Peugeot 208, just like the Corsa, is available with petrol, electric and petrol hybrid. Let’s start with the petrol engines. Just like the Corsa you can have a 1.2 litre engine with 75 bhp. this is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and 0-62 is delt within 13.2 seconds. Next up is the 1.2 litre turbo with 100 bhp. again, just like the Corsa this is mated to a 6-speed manual. For the petrol hybrid model, you can have a 1.2 litre turbo hybrid unit with 100 bhp. this is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox with an electric motor mounted within the gearbox allowing the car to coast in electric. This version is also available with 136 bhp too. 0-62 is delt within 9.8 seconds for the 100 bhp model or 8.1 seconds for the 136 bhp model. For the electric models there are 2 options just like the Corsa. You can have a 50kWh battery pack and a 136 bhp motor. This will give you a range of 215 miles. There is also a more powerful version with a 51kWh battery pack and 156 bhp. this has a range of 232 miles which is decent for this type of car. The price of the new Peugeot 208 starts at £20,400 for the petrol model or £32,650 for the electric model.

Interior – Design

So, getting inside the new 208 facelift and we do get some changes. Now if you have watched my review of the new Corsa Facelift then you will most likely know what these changes are. We get a new logo on the small Peugeot steering wheel as well as a new infotainment system. The overall fit and finish is decent and the materials that are used are of high quality. The overall design of the I cockpit dashboard may not be to everyone’s taste, but I do like the 3d Digital Instrument Cluster. Let’s have a look at the rear seats

Practicality

So, as we get into the back just like the Corsa and the old 208, the door is not that wide, and they also don’t open that wide. Once you’re in though you will notice that the legroom is very tight, but headroom is not that bad. With the seat in a position for a 6-foot person and a 6-foot person sitting behind legroom is almost non-existent. Personally, for me I would not want to go for a long distance in this car. Let’s have a look at the boot.

Boot Size

So, boot size is average of this class at 311 liters with the seats up and 1,106 liters with the seats down. This is beiger than Corsa’s Boot and it doesn’t alter if you go for electric or petrol.

Summary

So, what do I think of the new Peugeot 208 facelift then. Well, it is better than the Corsa by far. It has a quirkier design inside and out and the practicality is slightly better with the same engines as the Corsa. Personally, this would be the one to go for over the Corsa any day if you compared them side by side.
