New 2024 Nissan Juke Facelift Review

Are the changes enough for the Nissan Juke Facelift?

Exterior – Front

So, lets start with the design of the Nissan Juke and the first generation was never a good-looking car in my opinion. This second generation did improve on the looks and with the hybrid model they did change the grill slightly, so the chrome is not connected to the LED Daytime Running Lights. This design I do quite like. Don’t get me wrong there are better looking cars out there, but this is at least bearable. Just like the first-generation Juke we get these 2 circle pods which house the main headlight units and lower down we get a decent sized central air vent with some fake side vent housing the fog lights.

Exterior – Side

Moving round to the side and surprise surprise there are no changes. What do you get then. Well, you get some sporty creases along the side as well as some black plastic cladding. You also get a hidden rear door handle which makes this car have a sportier look. One thing I must say though is that this yellow is growing on be and is quite unique. Its not faded like the first generation and brighter and more vibrant.

Exterior – Rear

Moving round to the back and again we get a better design to what we are used to from the first generation. We get some sporty taillights and a sporty lower bumper with more black cladding as well as a spoiler up top. Overall, the back is less offensive than before and has a chunky off-roader like style too it. It will attract to the younger market. lets have a look at what engine options you can have with the new Nissan Juke Facelift.

Car and engine specs and price

So, the Nissan Juke only comes in petrol form. This is either regular petrol or Hybrid petrol. Let’s start with the first engine. This is a 1 litre turbo unit with 112 bhp. this has a 0-62 time of 10.7 seconds, so it isn’t the quickest and it is front wheel drive. This can be had with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic. The final version is the hybrid version. This has a 1.6 lit turbo unit with 140 bhp which is better, but the 0-62 time is still not great at 10.3 seconds. Again, this is only front wheel drive, and it is only a 7-speed automatic. The price of the new Nissan Juke Facelift starts at £23,485. Let’s have a look at the interior as this is where things will hopefully change.

Interior – Design

So, getting inside the Nissan Juke and you will notice a few changes. To start with it is much more modern than before and has a less Juke feel too it and more Qashqai look to it. We get a new infotainment system taken straight out of the Ariya, Qashqai, and X-Trail. This is a much better system and looks modern and is easy to use. We also get a new digital instrument cluster taken from the Qashqai and all of this based on a new dashboard design that has the same yellow design on this car. Overall, it feels much better than before and it also uses a better more premium materials giving this a premium feel. The seats are also slightly different and again use more premium materials. Finally, Nissan has improved the storage in the centre console by giving it a slight update to have a bigger arm rest cubby. You also still get the Bose headrest seats too. let’s have a look at what it is like in the back of the Nissan Juke.

Practicality

So, getting in the back and you can tell in some places that it is a cheaper car compared to its other rivals. The door cards have cheap plastics, but the seat material is quite premium, and you also get ISOFIX points, and you can just about get a car seat in the back. Sitting in the back and headroom is ok but legroom is not the best. Let’s have a look in the boot.

Boot Size

So, opening the boot you are welcomed with 422 litres of space which is decent for this size of car. If you go for the hybrid option however it does decrease to 354 litres, but this is still very useable. Folding the seats down you get 422 litres.

Summary

So, the Nissan Juke Facelift. what do I think of it. Well, it is an ok car but that is about it. The facelift isn’t enough to keep it ahead of its rivals. The engine options are boring and not fun to drive which is a shame really as I do want to give the Juke a chance but I’m not sure I can. Personally, I would buy a Kia Stonic or even the Vauxhall Mokka or Peugeot 2008. The Nissan Juke is a car that you buy if it is on offer or if you like the style of it and this brings me back to the beginning of the review. The Nissan Juke is a marmite car, some people like it and others hate it.
