New 2024 Audi A7 Facelift Review

Is this facelift enough to keep the A7 fresh?

Exterior – Front

So, lets start with the front-end design of the A7. To start with I just want to mention that we get less changes on the A7 than we do on the A6. We get the same cool looking headlights as before with its unique looking LED Day Time Running Lights. We also get the same bumper too as well as the same side vents and central vent. What has changed though is the grill. Just like the A6 it has a different mesh pattern to make it look more modern than before.

Exterior – Side

Moving round to the side and we get the swoopy fastback design that I hope will carry on with the upcoming A7. There are no changes from the side apart from the usual colour and wheel options have got a little update.

Exterior – Rear

Moving round to the back and there are no changes to report of. This means we get these sporty looking and dancing taillights connected with a lightbar. We also get a sporty looking bumper and a pop out rear boot spoiler. So, on the outside then there aren’t many changes to call it a facelift. let’s have a look at the engine and gearbox options that you can have with the Audi A7 Facelift.

Car and engine specs and price

So, the engine range of the Audi A7 Facelift is quite simple. There is only one petrol option and one diesel option. Let’s start with the diesel as this will be the most popular. This is called 40 TDi. This uses a 2-litre engine with 200 bhp and a 0-62 time of 7 seconds. It sends its power through an automatic gearbox, and it then goes to all 4 wheels using the quattro system. Let’s have a look at the petrol engine. This is called 45 TFSi. This uses a 2-litre engine, but this has 260 bhp. this means the 0-62 time I reduced to 6.2 seconds which isn’t that bad for an A7. Again, power goes to an automatic gearbox and is sent to all 4 wheels. The price of the Audi A7 Facelift starts at £55,500. Lets have a look at the interior.

Interior – Design

So, getting inside the new Audi A7 Facelift and there are no changes to report of just like the A6 and the A6 shares the same interior as the A7. The Audi MMi system is still the most current version, and it works very well and we also get this haptic effect like what the Audi A8 has, it does work well but you do have to push harder on the screen than you would on a normal touchscreen. We also get another touchscreen for the climate control system too. This is a more outdated system to what we will find on newer Audi’s, but it does work well and it does feel like a premium car. The Centre console is also very premium, and we also get premium feeling materials. The digital instrument cluster is also very customizable and easy to use. The steering wheel is also the best Audi steering wheel design too. The seats are also supportive and comfortable and typical Audi seats. So, let's have a look and see what it is like in the back.

Practicality

So, getting into the back of the A7 and you do get a bit more space over the A6 in terms of legroom, but headroom is not the best because of the sloping roof but there is no surprise there. You get your own touch sensitive climate control for each passenger as well as your own heated seats. You also get some air vents and a nice armrest that has storage for your phone in it. Let’s have a look in the boot

Boot Size

The boot size of the Audi A7 is 535 litres with the seats up. the best part though is that it has a hatchback style boot which makes accessing the boot extremely easy to do. The boot is also electrical.

Summary

So, what do I think of the new Audi A7 Facelift then. Well personally unlike the A6, the A7 hasn’t changed that much and whilst I wish I had seen more changes. I can see why as the A7 is going to be replaced by the A7 Saloon and A7 Avant. Yes, the A7 is going to get an estate. This is because the ICE A6 will now be renamed the A7 as the A6 E-Tron will take the A6 nameplate.
