New 2023 Peugeot E-2008 Facelift Review

The Peugeot E-2008 has been updated for 2024. Is it any better than before and can it stand out from the old model?

Exterior – Front

So, lets start with the styling at the front and to start with we get a new grill design with the new Peugeot logo in the centre of it. We also get a new set of LED headlights and unlike before they don’t house the daytime running lights. They have now moved lower down, and we now get 3 of them in the side vents. The central air vent has also changed slightly too. Overall, this gives the car a more modern and aggressive look over the old one and helps it stand out better.

Exterior – Side

Moving round to the side of the new Peugeot e-2008 and we do get some changes with the model font and some new wheel options as well as some new colour options but apart from that everything else is the same as before.

Exterior – Rear

Moving round to the back of the Peugeot e-2008 and we get a set of new taillights that are more modern than before, and we also get the new Peugeot lettering as apposed to the logo. The bumpers have stayed the same. Let’s have a look at the new battery and motor as well as engine options that you can have with the new Peugeot 2008 and e-2008.

Car and engine specs and price

So, lets start with the battery and motor options as these have changed the most. To start with the battery has been expanded from 50kWh to54kWh. This increases the range to 251 miles which is an improvement of around 38 miles. The motor has also been upgraded to offer up to 154 bhp and a 0-62 time of 9.1 seconds which is not that bad for an heavy electric car. For the internal combustion engine options you can either have the regular Petrol options. These are the 1.2 litre turbo PureTech engines with either 99bhp or 128bhp. These can be mated to a 6 speed manual or an 8 speed automatic. What is new is for the first time you can now get a Mild hybrid version. This uses the 1.2 litre turbo 128bhp PureTech engine but it has a 48v electric motor attached to it in the gearbox giving this car 136bhp. This uses an all new 6 speed dual clutch gearbox. Fuel economy is improved by 15% compared to the regular petrol engine. The price of the new Peugeot 2008 starts at £24,020 for the petrol model and for the electric model it starts at £36,350.

Interior – Design

So, getting inside the new Peugeot E-2008 and we get some changes that make the Peugeot feel more modern and easier to live with. To start with we get the new logo on the steering wheel as well as some new graphics on the instrument cluster. We also get the new infotainment system, which is much better than before, and it uses the widescreen setup which makes it easier to see. We also get some new materials which feel more premium too. Everything just feels like it’s a step up than before and doing these changes help sell the car better. Let’s have a look at the rear seats.

Practicality

So, getting into the back and considering that the 2008 is based on the 208 there is much more legroom and headroom than that car. This makes it perfect form families and for small children and young adults. Also, another rarity is because it is electric the floor is not raised like some electric converted cars for example the EQA from Mercedes. Let’s have a look and see what the boot space is like.

Boot Size

So, opening the boot whether it is either the internal combustion engine model or the electric model you will get 405 litres with the seats up. The Peugeot does have a bit of a load lip, but this can be reduced if you lift the false floor up. This gives you some storage underneath for the cables then which is a very good idea.

Summary

So, in summary then what do I think of the Peugeot 2008. Well, it is very practical, and it looks unique and cool. The interior and technology have also been improved and with the new battery and motor options it makes this car quite more desirable than it once was.
