This is the new Volkswagen ID.3 GTX. Is this the ultimate Golf GTI replacement?
Performance
So what do you get with the ID.3 GTX to make it a proper hot hatch. Well you only get one motor unlike other GTX cars and this is still rear mounted and the power output on the performance model is 321 bhp. Whilst this isn't as good as the crazy MG4 XPower with 432 bhp, it is still rear wheel drive and is much quicker than the Golf GTI. There will be a less powered version with only 286 bhp though. the ID.3 GTX is powered by a new 79 kWh battery pack thats new for the ID.3 and this unlocks more range at 372 miles. 0-62 mph is also decent at 5.6 seconds which is similar to the Golf GTI Clubsport. The GTX sits 10 millimeters lower than the regular ID.3 and you also get adaptive dampers.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of the ID.3 GTX is also different to the regular ID.3. You get a new front bumper design that mimics the ID.7 GTX that you can view on my YouTube channel. You also get the new Light Graphics for the GTX. Along the side, the chrome has been changed to gloss black material and so have the side sills and skirts. The rear bumper is also different to look sportier too as well as a bigger spoiler and sportier wheels.
Interior Design
Inside there are a few changes for example the red stitching on the dashboard and the red trim on the steering wheel. You also get the same seats from the Golf GTI Clubsport but these have been slightly changed to work within a GTX. What has been shown for the first time that we will see in the other ID3 cars is that we get the new and improved bigger infotainment system and a new gear selector.
