Honda's future of electric cars have been revealed in a form of 2 new concept cars which should hit the road next year.
Rather than being called concepts, Honda calls them prototypes. This means that a production version will be here within a year under its new 0 series EV development plan.
The first to arrive will be the Honda 0 SUV which will be a mid sized crossover that will go on sale in America first in the first half of 2026 before coming to Europe and Japan and the UK in the second half of 2026. Both Honda's feature a futuristic and distinctive sleek front end with a bulky and square rear end to maximize interior space. It is also expected to feature 3D gyro sensors to "enable dynamics at the will of the driver on various road surfaces".
The flagship for the 0 Series range will be the saloon which has a Lamborghini style sloping nose to help with aerodynamics.
Little is known about the actual size or boot space of the car nor do we know about powertrain specifics but we do know that the 0 Series will either have a rear wheel drive option or a 4 wheel drive option with power between 241 bhp and 480 bhp.
The 0 Series lineup will consist of an entry level SUV below the Prototype SUV and a larger 7 seater SUV. There will also be a smaller saloon too below the Saloon prototype which should come out by 2030.
Finally Honda has also revealed its new Asimo OS Operating System which will debut on the 0 Series cars. Named after Honda's first robot first seen in 2000, the Operating System will look after the Driving assistance system as well as automated driving and of course entertainment systems. It will use over-the-air updates to make sure it gets the latest functions and services.
